1.School-based and Authentic Learning Materials
Our English department promotes Reading across the Curriculum. Reading strategies are taught and authentic texts are used. These could be seen in the design of our school-based materials.
To increase students’ exposure to real-life language situations, a wide range of authentic reading materials are incorporated into our curriculum. Examples include news reports, articles, magazines, blogs and restaurant reviews.

2.Reading Strategies and Reading Workshop
To nurture efficient and critical readers, we have developed a school-based reading curriculum that reinforces the teaching of reading strategies. During Reading Workshops, students experience storytelling, reading aloud, shared reading, guided reading and independent reading. Various co-teaching modes are also employed to cater for students’ multiple learning styles.
3.Effective Communication (EC) Lessons (P.1 to P.6)
Our Native English Teachers (NETs), Mr Nathan ,Miss Heidi , Miss Ledi, and Miss Jennifer conduct fun-filled EC lessons to enrich students’ English speaking opportunities.
4.Drama Lessons (P.4 to P.6)
Our P.4 to P.6 students have weekly Drama Lessons with Miss Heidi . They are provided with a chance to perform on stage so as to boost their confidence in using the language.
